Hello all...looking for helpful ideas! Just did some lighting upgrades to LED on a 99 roadster. Front DRL/Signals, all interior convenience lights, and installed a Hyper Flash harness. Now the radio will not turn off as it should after you pull the key and open the door.Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks!

 

Do you mean your interior lights & radio never shut off or they shut off on time delay?

While I had my air conditioning control & radio upgraded to full LEDs (repaired) I did LEDs in the interior of my 02 C5 vert. Including the instrument cluster, HUD, & DIC. The interior has new lighting cycles.
When i drop someone off & the passenger door opens &the courtesy bell rings a short burst that’s new.
when I shut off the car. All the dash lights stay on including radio lights ( radio sound shuts off &radio lights stay on) dual zone air controls, HUD, DIC, & window switches.

This is all new since upgrade &when I get out & shut the door now;
1st the radio & air cond control lights shut off. 2nd the HUD, DIC, gauges, traction & ride control lights shut off. 3rd and last the window switches shut off.
This sequence seems all new to me. I bought it at 4 k in 06 and don’t remember 3 different interior light shut off time delays. I remember when I shut it off
opened the door the radio, and all lights except the floor courtesy, gauges & window switches lights stayed on for a time delay & shut off.

i run stock low beams & 5000 lumens each fog lights from vettlights.com. The fogs are so bright I don’t need headlights but use em to increase the light making more light than needed. Never had one problem with vetlights.com fog lights. I’ll try calling them.
I had no luck with led headlights. I tried LED & HID with miracle cables. The LEDs would shut off when they felt like it, shutting the car off and re-starting it I had LED headlights..
Then I found HIDconcepts.com very close by in SKOKIE, Illinois. One of the owners? Awesome. Taught me bout HIDs I bought a set with plug & play miracle cables and the converter box. Hooked em up an had a 20% brighter set of low beams.
On a night I needed the car, it’s my everyday car! The HIDs just stopped, light? Nothing. No more low beams.
I removed them when I got back & returned them to HIDconcepts.com & the refunded 80%.
Now I have a LED in the HUD unit I replaced Friday Ya, 4 days ago.
Superbrightleds.com says just modify your application. 3 led twist base’s didn’t fit so I probably drilled the holes in the back of the HUD switch box out of center or to big. So I ordered a used instrument cluster from eBay for a HUD switch I can rebuild when I find out who sells plag&play

I tried rewiring all the incandescent bulbs from Crazy Uncle Burton at at batee.com when 8 got to the HUD the blue covers didn’t fit the bulbs. Not even in the back of the HUD switch module. I removed the blue covers from the DIC bulbs, they had to be ruined to remove em & tested the bulb color was a sick orange. Then I called an engineer at superbrightleds.com (cho cho Charlie) LOL sent me thirty bulbs that 4 openings fit without drilling out the back of the cluster. So I left the incandescent in the gauges & rewired four for the DIC with some of the led bulbs I had layin around. So I have 3 different bulb colors in the instrument cluster & eventually have to rip it apart & change em all again. Practice makes whatttt?

Can anyone tell me who’s interior LEDs fit OEM C5 HUD, DIC, & instrument clusters on the fist try without re-drilliing holes, re wiring every OEM twist lock diggin thru LEDs to find four that fit the OEM bases?, ??
i see some are new twist bases with bayonet LED bulbs (and no R&rewire&R) any suggestions please. HELP
