Upgrade advice/Build thread
I'm looking to do some upgrades on my Z. I was originally going to do some driveline upgrades with exhaust.
Looking at:
McCLeod or Monster twin disk, slave, remote bleeder
poly couplers and bearings for torque tube
TSP headers or Kooks. Do the Kooks justify the extra 800 bucks?
PFADT trans brace
LG tunnel brace
Then I got to thinking about the other parts I would like to change and figured if I'm going to pull the back half of the car out to do the clutch and TT. Then I might as well separate the car from the front and rear subframe and do it all at once. My buddy has a twin post lift in his garage.
So what I'm looking at motor wise:
TSP 225 heads or trickflow 220
TSP torquer V2 cam (or any other recommendations)
3/8 pushrods
LS7 Lifters w trays
Harlan Sharp rockers
Gasket kit
ARP headbolt kit.
Melling High pressure oil pump
Cloyes single roller chain
Am I missing anything? Any other recommendations?
Thanks
KT

If you are going with a twin disc look at RPS BC-2.
Katech remote bleeder
Sac City Corvette transmission mount
Melling 10296
I'd go with the C5-R timing chain and "while you're in there," replace the harmonic balancer to ATI 917266 and ARP Bolt.
Have fun. All good stuff.

As for the timing chain I used this..

There is a person in the Facebook groups making the Pfadt style mount for 250.00

Since your block should be drilled and tapped look into this

Out of those 2 head choices the tfs 220’s for sure, mill to bump compression and run thinner head gaskets, Johnson 2110 lifters, stock rockers with trunnion upgrade, new stock oil pump, powerbond pulley, arp crank bolt, pick the cam that YOU want and that works for your build cause you’ll probably get 30 different suggestions

Most of my mods have to do with sustained HPDE events. I have some budget hp mods, but the aim is to make things last. I went with AMP motor mounts and wanted something similar in the rear. It is polyurethane incased in steel and not outrageous in price.

Oil pump
You are going to want a high volume pump, not a high pressure pump.
the high volume pump will compensate for any engine wear in the oil supplied rotating parts group

Another question.
Which injectors do I need to get. I know I will be maxed out on the stock injectors. Will the FAST 36lb injectors be good or is there something else out there?
Monster twin disk,
LUX trans mount,
TSP headers and mid pipe
Torque tub rebuilt kit
LG Tunnel brace
Have all arrived. Just putting together then final list of parts for the top end.

The driveline work is complete!
Now I’m Trying to decide if I was to do a H/C/I or a A&A kit.
Any recommendations?

I got the new rims and tires on too! I lowered in on the stock bolts.
I decided to to the A&A kit. It was ordered on Friday so now I wait. I am going to change the balancer to the summit balancer.

Do need to change anything else?
I thought about doing a cam but not sold on that.

The A&A kit has arrived. Just waiting on a few more parts before I get started.
The question is should a just go ahead a do a cam since I"m going to have everything tore down already?
