Sounds like blend door actuators, but the same temp from all vents might be worrisome. You have dual zone or manual? On my '99, both actuators quit about the same time. There are a couple of processes to reset the actuators, so you might try those first. They are a pain in the butt to change.
The compressor is not kicking on and yes it is dual zone. Usually when a recharge is needed, the passenger side blows colder than the driver side. Not the case here. Thanks for the input. Hope to hear more. Going to try and jump start the compressor tomorrow.
Could be the refrigerant has leaked out, blown fuse, bad relay, bad compressor, bad switch, bad wiring. I’d say most likely you’ve sprung a leak somewhere and have no refrigerant.
I’m assuming you don’t have gauges so not really any way to check level. You can cross over the low pressure switch and see if the compressor kicks on. If it does, that will basically rule out everything except lack of refrigerant or a bad low pressure switch. Look over the lines, condenser, and compressor for evidence of a leak.
If low on refrigerant the A/C light should flash and go out. Interesting.
I tend to think any who do even partial home maintenance should spend a few bucks on a gage manifold. So much data , even if you pay someone else to do the work - which I have.
OK so I put gauges on it and I determined it was low on freon. It took a charge and is now ice cold. Looks like it is leaking from the usual spot. It was just odd because a low charge usually has one side blowing warmer than the other. Not the case here.
There is a pressure switch that keeps the compressor clutch from engauging when it is low on a charge.. With it being low on charge, as stated it will also be low on oil. You really should have the leak found and fixed, the system vacuumed down and re charged with refrigerant and the correct oil and the correct amount of refrigerant
as a side note:
At the Zone , they are now selling cans off 134A , no gauge, with a hose and quick release' It has two plastic tabs that you put in the vents that turn color when the ac blows cold air.
This is not an approved method to properly charge an ac unit
