I have been running Bilstein Sports (B8s) since March and have about 500 miles on them. My car is also lowered approximately 2" with extended rear bolts and c6 front bolts. There is a significant improvement in handling and steering feedback, as well as cornering stability. They definitely have more aggressive valving so you feel the bumps more, but nothing crazy. They make your car ride like it's an actual sports car, not a Cadillac. I also upgraded to all poly control arm bushings, metal sway bar end links, new ball joints, new wheels bearings, etc. So my results may be a bit exaggerated compared to what someone may feel changing only the shocks. But I certainly recommend the B8s to anyone considering it. The critical part with moving to the B8s is that you don't go toooo low. I was told 1-2" from stock is the ideal range for the B8s, stock height you want the HDs (B6s). Any shock will ride/handle like crap if you lower 3"+. At that point, you're only viable option is coilovers.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. All i want to do is drop 1-1.5 and put bilstein b8s on so i could maintain handling and not be riding on bumpstops, as well as removing some of the 4wd look of the c5. Ive driven SLAMMED cars for 6 years and currently have 22 year old shocks so im not looking for cadillac ride quality
