Default Key fob - lights flash but door doesn't actually lock

Hello,

I am the proud new owner of a low mile 2002 Z06. I discovered this issue after inadvertently setting off the car alarm multiple times :-) . (I am used to my modern daily driver that detects my key fob and unlocks to door when i touch the handle, so i keep forgetting)...

Issue:
When using the key fob, the lights will blink when when i press lock or unlock. "Unlock" appears to function correctly (if I manually lock the car with the key, the keyless to "unlock" works). When I press "lock" on the key fob, the lights blink, but the doors don't lock...i can open the car thus setting off the alarm...i placed the keys about 15 feet away when trying to make sure it wasn't a proximity issue ... I have not tried locking the door while inside the car and having someone outside try and open it.

cliff notes, the keyless entry will not lock the car, but the lights and horn beep - therefore, when i open the door that didnt lock the alarm goes off.

anyone experienced this issue? Only way I can lock the car is if i manually do it with the key, but the passenger door will remain unlocked.

Thanks!

I found a guy on Ebay you send your module to, fixes and sends it back.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-2004-C...del%3ACorvette

I don't have any soldering experience, nor the tools, $69 seems good to me.

For the record, this is not my post. It was submitted a few years back. I should have kept the name of the OP.

Here is another company that will do the repair. I have not used them.

I suppose one way to determine whether the fault is the actuator or the relay is to remove the door panel, press the LOCK button, and see if the actuator moves or not. If the relay clicks but no actuator movement, then probably a bad actuator. Unless the relay is clicking but not making contact, as the embedded writeup explains. So I'm back to square one.
