98 coup. I just recent pulled the intake off to replace the gaskets for the manifold and the valley pan. Putting it back together, I'm confused about the EVAP purge vacuum switch, (4) in the diagram. I don't remember pulling off a vacuum line from this switch, but it looks like the long elbow fitting is for just that and I don't trust my memory any more. They even call it a vacuum switch. Should there be a vacuum line for this switch that goes to the back of the manifold like the line for the HVAC system? Seems like others have had this question/problem of the missing or supposed to not be there, vacuum hose. Here is one of the threads: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-solenoid.html
It is not throwing a code, but I'm getting that gas smell since I pulled the manifold, the injectors are not leaking, so something has changed.
.
Any and all help will be so welcome.
Thanks

the evap solenoid on my 02 looked different than yours but it was connected to a line at the firewall that runs back to the tank, you might check around that area for the connection

here is where my evap solenoid connected at the firewall (circled in green), I removed the solenoid a few years ago but this is where it ran and that line goes back to the tank... my car is an 02 so it might be slightly different but I would imagine it has to be in the same vicinity... I guess it's possible that the previous owner completely removed the hardline from the car but that seems like more trouble than it's worth

What size line is that? Not like the hard little vacuum line that goes to the HVAC right?

maybe 1/8" diameter just guessing, I would have to measure to be sure... and yes it is a hardline just like the fuel line is at the firewall that runs back to the tank, it is not a soft line and is not connected to the intake at least mine wasn't
