Topic says it all. This is already the third time that the bulbs have to be changed. I just noticed that they were out again. Has anyone had this problem?
I've been having the same problem but it's not the bulbs, at least not on my car. The bulbs test fine with an Ohm meter and when I put them back in they'll work again........for a while. I think I've got a switch or electrical connection that's intermittent. I haven't gone to the dealer because I know when I get there it will be working. I'm hoping that eventually it will fail permanently or stay off long enough so a dealer can find the problem. Let me know how you make out with your problem.
Mine have been non-functional when putting the car into reverse for about 5 weeks now. I know the bulbs work fine because they light up when I engage/disengage the alarm. I checked the wiring between the backup light switch and the bulbs and it checked out fine. Whenever I get some time off from work, I'll take it to the dealership so that they can replace the backup light switch in the transmission (and fix my driver's seat which has begun to rock and I have to reposition the seat back every couple of days).
My advice would be to double check the backup light switch and/or the wiring from the transmission to the bulbs.
