There is NO Chime Module. The circuit and the speaker are INSIDE the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) You can disassemble the IPC and clip the speaker wire. The circuit is on the IPC mother board. Is yours making some weird screeching noise instead of the chime??? Provide a good e-mail address and I will give you a great link to IPC disassembly.

Yes. It makes a funny noise when the car is parked, driving, key in ignition or not in ignition. Blount3121@bellsouth.net

Can you provide any insight as to cause of the screeching noise? I am experiencing the same issue. The noise starts as soon as the battery is connected, and continues until the battery is disconnected. 2000 Coupe M6 37k miles. No electrical modifications. No other issues with the car.
I would appreciate any troubleshooting tips. I would prefer to disable the chime only as a last resort.

Thank you so much for linking that post.
I had a government computer for my job after Navy retirement ... It had a folder for ALL of my personal info and links to cool stuff like the post that you linked. Right before I retired (from my second career) all of those files were lost before I could transfer them.
Retirement X2 and the move from CT to El Paso, new stuff to do, family, new places to go etc, etc, etc.. found me absent from the Forum for a good while. One person asked if I was still alive.
Well, I'm still alive and kicken and I have started to be more forum active again. THANK YOU to all the forum members that have communicated with me and thanked me for the information that I have provided.
I really enjoy trying to solve complex C5 problems. It's my sanity therapy. C5 Sudoku puzzle so to speak.
