Default Climate Control Panel getting hot

HI Guys, Merv from Australia here, about 6K into our USA road trip, about to start the Blue Ridge Parkway and notice the climate control panel getting hot. Everything still working, panel brightness/fan speed/all controls, but ***** and panel quite hot. Not too hot to touch but worried that something behind panel is generating non-normal heat. Still hot even if controls switched off. Any help surely appreciated, don't want to cook circuitry.

The climate control unit is mounted and supported but a metal frame structure that also supports the radio. Is the radio hot? Is the tunnel hot to touch? It sounds like your tunnel is generating a lot of “extra” heat. The climate control unit is a plastic box with several circuit boards, nothing that will generate the kind of heat your reporting.

Thanks for your reply. No, nothing unusual about radio or tunnel, warm but usual. Driver side of panel is hotter than passenger. Drove this morning with switch off, still became hot.
