Can a programmer that's been designated for a year be used on various years? If so, which models can be used for which years? For example, model# 395752 is designated for '99 Corvette, are there other years it can be used on? Are they year-unique or is this a marketing ploy to discourage use among friends and/or resale?
I think they can only be used for the intended year because of something in the VIN#. They can only be used on one car at A time. To sell it you have to go back to stock programming. Then it can be used on A diffrent car of the same year.
I have one I use on my 1998 coupe Automatic and I really like it. I bought it used on the parts for sale place here on the forum for $200.00
I too have the same model # you posted and it's good for any 99 Corvette
and that's it. It can be used for manual or automatic. I think it's a great little tool to own and mess with. You can change several things and more on the A4. I also bought mine used here on the CF for about $200.
Good luck!
The programmer is only good on its specific year application. You could use it on another car of the same make, year and model but only if the original vehicle it was used on was returned to its stock factory programming.
