Steering Column Telescoping Issue..

Steering Column Telescoping Issue..
I've read every post I can find on this subject, and have tried (repeatedly) the "Reset" (eight forward/eight back, etc.). No help.
I have dis-connected and inspected both seat connectors, (twice).
All seat functions work.
I have changed the Options code for easy access..... tried both, nothing brings the telescope feature back to life.
When I move the button on the right side of the steering column (telescope in/out button) I can hear a faint click on every click "out".
When I move the switch to "in" I can hear the same faint click, but only on the sixth, seventh and eighth click.
So.... does this sound familiar to anyone? Any help appreciated.
