Default doughnuts????

I am curious... not that i am going to try them... but how do you do a proper doughnut??? I have seen people from a virtual dead start get their back ends swinging around and the front tires are practically staying in place. Do you turn the wheels, drop the clutch while you heel the brake?

Thanks for the input :D :D :D

Not that I've ever done this or anything :D But with an auto, you powerbrake it and get the tires spinning really good, then let off the brake and cut the wheel. It's good for a nice smoke show and killing tires you are about to replace

Not that I have ever done this either, but I once had a 64 Stingray Coupe that was really good at it. :yesnod: Just cut the front wheels hard right or left, Break the back tires loose and keep them spinning fast enough so they can't get traction and around you will go. Then pick a direction you want to exit on and start steering the front tires that direction while easing up on the gas so the tires get close to getting traction to start moving you foward. Once the car starts to get straightened out and going foward, back on the gas hard to continue the burnout as you exit. :D

If you can find a out of the way parking lot that is empty at night or weekends, it's a good place to practice until you get the technique down.

All above as reported to me by someone back in the 60's.

Title: Buttermilk Spice Doughnuts
Categories:
Yield: 1 Servings

1 c Sugar
2 Eggs; well beaten
1/4 c Soft shortening
4 c Flour
2 ts Baking powder
1 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
1/4 ts Nutmeg
1 c Buttermilk

Gradually add sugar to eggs, beating well after
each addition. Beat in shortening. Sift together
dry ingredients. Add to sugar mixture alternately
with buttermilk, mixing well after each addition.
Chill dough. Turn dough onto floured pastry cloth
or board. Knead 3-4 times to form a ball. Cut in
half. Roll each half about 1/3" thick and cut with
a sharp cutter. Fry in hot fat.

Sorry, I couldn't resist

Later, Keith :flag

P.S. The beer made me do it
