Default 2004 vette oem brake pad material?

Some parts houses say Semi-Metallic, others say Ceramic. I liked the way my brakes worked when the car was new and I want to put back the exact same pads. Thanks in advance.

I’m curious about this too. I’ve always used oem pads but they were just recently discontinued. Might want to buy up some rotors if you like the oem. I’m guessing they will be discontinued as well here shortly.

Amazon has AC Delco pads but they are Semi-Metallic but it says on the page that OEM is Ceramic. Same for Summit racing AC Delco pads. But from what I know about brake pads Semi-Metallic are for hard driving and Ceramic are more sensitive to cold weather and have other negative things that one does not want in a performance car.
If I can't get a real answer to my question I am either going with AC Delco Semi-Metallic or Wagner ThermoQuite MX731 for the front.

OEM pads are not ceramic. This has been discussed before, the original AC Delco pads are Semi Metallic Carbon Ferrous, according to Evil-Twin. Click here for some interesting insider's details.

I put these pads on my 99 and again on my 03. They work well and are quiet.

I see where these pads come with shims. Do you need to install the shims?

If you mean the plates that come attached to the back of the pads, yes I used them but I do not know if you are required to.
