There is excessive what sounds like road noise in the back driving local or on the Highway. On the Highway, the Hollow Road Sound will drown out the radio unless it's cranked up. Sounds like I'm riding on rough pavement. There's also a rattle when driving on bumps that sounds like a loose shock but it's not a shock.
Anybody experience this excessive noise? There's brand new Non Run Flat tires on the car and it didn't help at all.
Does it favor one side? Have someone ride with you to confirm if the noise is really road noise or maybe coming from a wheel bearing.
Lift the rear and check for wheel looseness. Rotate them to see if you hear any noise. Both rear wheels should rotate together if the the car is lifted and in neutral. If the differential clutch packs are in good shape, it can take 50- 100 foot pounds to rotate only one wheel while the other is stationary.
And check the stabilizer bar connectors for looseness. Shock grommets/ bushings tight?
You might also see if it differs when accelerating/decelerating/coasting....
No difference in accelerating/coasting. It's like I'm driving on a mild rough pavement surface. But, when I get to a newly paved surface it's as quiet as I would expect a C5 to be.
