Newbie here (again!!). So my '99 has the 12-disc player in back and single disc in the cockpit. It doesn't have a cassette player.
I've been cutting my own CD's for YEARS and never had one fail to play in a car (or anything else, for that matter). The fellow I got the car from left 8-9 discs in the 12-disc, but the single player in the cockpit was empty. The player works fine with commercially cut CD's (his and mine) as well as his 'home cut' CD's, but gives me an "ERR" message on every single one of my home cut CD's. Mine will play in our home stereo, on the computer, in the wife's Ford, etc. but not in the C5. Cockpit or 12-disc, neither one will play my home-made jobs, but will play his home-made jobs and commercially cut CD's.
HELP!!! Not into his genre of music and commercially cut CD's are getting hard to find, so I really want to be able to play my CD's on the road in the C5. Thoughts? Experiences? Thanks, in advance!!
Could be the CD-R disc. In the past, I have had some issues with CD-R brands when I burn disc. Since using ones sold by Staples, I have had no further issues.
