Spent the afternoon tearing out my non-functioning HUD thinking it is the common broken hinge. When I cracked it open, I found the hinge to be fine. Any other ideas what to check next? I do not see any light at all when it is plugged in the vehicle. Can the LED bulb burnout? If so, can these be replaced. I tried (not sure if I was successful, to put a 9 volt battery with alligator clips to the light and it did not seem to light. I am just not sure I was making good contact. Any other ideas I can try so I dont feel like I wasted my day tearing this out...thanks!!

I'm pretty sure the light is a vacuum fluorescent, not an LED. So it's not going to work on DC voltage at all and probably runs at about 400 Hertz AC if I had to guess. And fairly low voltage I would also guess. I don't know that for a fact but it's a fair bet.
