I’ve seen heaps of wiper problem posts , and I have the Same problem with my c5 vette . Wipers go on when they want and don’t stop .It’s not the rubber Udders as they are draining the excess water well . But it’s worse when left out side In moisture. I’ve pulled the wiper motor out and opened it up and it’s dry as . The funny thing was I pulled the wiper water squirter motor plug out of its connection to the water holding tank and I’ve had no problem ever since , has anyone else tried this , the only thing is u can’t squirt water onto the window . Haha . So why does it fix the problem when I do this .??
I had a similar issue with my car, it stopped once I replaced the wiper motor. My guess is that it shorted the board when it got wet and that persisted even after it dried out.
I cut the stupid udders on the ends and this still didn’t allow enough water in heavy rains to drain and flooded my motor again, so now I just ripped them out and better now —- why are they even needed??

Your problem is with the washer button in the stalk. Not is not an uncommon problem and has been posted about many times. I think the problem can sometimes be fixed by replacing a spring behind the button.

Thanks heaps I’ll give that a go as it’s due for a warrent of fitness and it won’t pass if the window washer doesn’t go , the blinkers play up as well , but I think that it’s the hazard switch as if I put the blinkers on but nothing is happening I touch the hazard button just a little bit then the blinkers start working.

Yip I understand that , there are some crazy ideas with the c5 , most of the wiring looms are all connected some how , as other cars run everything seperate. The c5 has all these annoying little problems. But such a great car other than that , heaps of power for our nz roads .
The udders are there to keep rodents and other critters out of places in the car where you don't want them and they work for that purpose. Keep them clean and spray the openings with silicone to keep them from sticking closed. Problem solved.

Yeah mine are still in there , the vette is parked in a garage and hopefully no mice around . Thanks for the advice.
