c5z rear tires
Hi,
I am looking at replacing the rears on my 04 z06. Current tires are pretty old and the new engine ( 441ci LS7) spins them all the way through 3rd so I need something with some traction. I have done a bit of research and have found that the toyo R888Rs supposedly offer amazing traction. I want to go slightly wider (stock z06 rims and the rear brake ducts are still intact.) to a 305/35, however the only r888r in that size is an XL load rated tire. Will there be any performance hit going with an XL rated tire? Any other recommendations? I realize what I am buying with a tire like that as far as wet performance, treadwear and road noise. I live 5 miles from work so mileage isn't a huge concern, but I don't want to change the tires ever 3k when I do the oil..
