Need help to replace ignition switch.

I need to replace the ignition switch in my 2004 CE convertible. I found a great thread by Bill Curlee on how to repair the switch but I have decided to get a new switch. Question is how do you remove the lock cylinder from the old switch and install in new switch?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

there is a button you push and the cyl. comes out !!!

think the key should be in on position ??

Yea it’s one of those things that when you have it apart makes more sense. I did mine in a few minutes, I was surprised at how easy it was!

Yep cylinder has to be in ON position for it to come out and go in.
Also found out after a lot of struggle

it has to be in ON position to get shifter cable out and back in..

If I ever need to change one again it will be a breeze.
