Default Throttle Body Options

Been looking around at upgrading the intake which of course means a different throttle body. Was wondering if there is anything out there besides an LS2 silver blade throttle body with adapter harness that would work. I see that the gold blades have 2 problems. first is the throttle body opens in the reverse direction. But if the mounting hole spacing is uniform side to side cant the throttle body just be rotated 180 degrees??? Seems there is enough room on the passenger side of the engine for the actuation motor. Second problem seems to be the TPS voltages being off and throwing codes. I can understand seeing this is a 4 year only part that there is limited availability but the prices seem to be way out there. I am surprised no after market companies are making units to accommodate this problem. Since the car SHOULD be tuned after install is this a problem that can be compensated for???

Opening in the reverse direction means that it is trying to SHUT when you want it to open. So the GOLD one will not work if you do the proper wiring conversions.

NIck Williams has a 102mm option and requires you to send your unit in. Let us know if there is anything we can help you with.

Did more searching and found out the motor in the throttle body is not a PWM pulse width modulation motor but just a simple DC motor. So reversing the polarity will solve the problem of reverse rotation. The other REP codes can be solved by tuning. Also found this post on here from a few years ago.

Have a conversion harness coming in Friday and found a cheap stock LS3 throttle body. Will keep everyone informed to my findings. Tried to get a silver blade and everyone wanted at least $240. While I do not mind spending money on quality parts, I DO mind over paying when a lil knowledge and tinkering can save me 60%.

How has this been working for you?
Any codes being thrown?
I have the same harness and am trying to figure out how to set it up to work with a NW102, which is suppose to be the same pinning as a gold LS3 throttle body...

Thanks

Been working flawlessly. I admit I have no need to go full throttle stop light to stop light and have only done so 3 or 4 times but no codes and flawless mechanical operation since the install and minor adjustments to the tune.

Did you need to swap the motor +/- wires or the TPS signal wires?
Or was it sufficient to just reduce the max throttle opening percentage?

Thanks!

Actually had to switch all 4 wires for the TPS. Swapped the power and gnd and also swapped TPS 1 and TPS 2. I did nothing with the motor wires, left them as is. Also had to drop max rotation to 94%.

I have 3 throttle bodies with harnesses tested working perfect and no one wants to buy any. Guess they want to hope and prey on a silver blade.

I am interested, I want to run one of these on my 04 6 speed. Is the 04 wiring the same as yours, if so I will buy one. Currently car is not running with the silver blade TB.
