About two years ago I replaced both headlight mechanisms. Lately when I start the car at night the driver side headlamp does not open, the light is working. After awhile it will open and the car has been shut off and restarted....is there a relay involved with these pop up headlamps?
There are a couple of good videos on youtube that will show you what's happened as well as how to fix it. I'd advise buying the brass gear and being done with it forever. just did one two weeks ago. Not a bad job. 30 minutes +/-10minutes. Best of luck
STRMLNE - you are right on target....I would not replace that switch (which is a cumbersome move) for one headlamp not working. That doesn't/did not make sense to me either. Thank you
I’ve dealt with your issue for way too long. Finally I had rodney Dickman or dickham bump stops installed (the other ones sold online just break. They are made of crappy material). Drivers side didn’t come up for me and I just slightly backed off the manual wheel and it has been good since. It was explained to me that the motor can over torque itself which causes the problem. Loosening it slightly will relieve that tension and for me it has been good since.
