stiff steering - throwing code for magnetic steering... any solution?
Do those rack rebuild places touch that part of the rack? I have a hard code for the magnetic steering.
My rack will be out when i do this cam. So i figured now's the time if i'm going to do something. I drove my buddy's C5 and realized just how stiff mine is.

Do you get any MAGNASTEER DTCs when you read the DTCs using the C5 built in code reader system??
Usually the wiring and or connector for that system get damaged and or nasty oily. The very first thing that I would do is find the connector and make sure its clean and properly connected. You can disconnect the connector and see what the resistance reading of the sensor coil is. If it reading correctly, you may have an issues with the relay or circuit inside the EBTCM. What year C5 do you have??
Depending on the year C5, servicing that relay is possible and easier on the early tear EBTCM.
The service manual has a very good troubleshooting bubble chart for that system.
