I kinda figured the right would be empty after I thought about it. If I siphoned out gas from the filler tube, that would come out of the left tank, correct? But on the other hand, if I put the Techron in and filled it up, wouldn't the gas overflow from the already full (theoretically) left tank go into the empty right tank as the gas is put in from the pump? I am a bit confused on the fuel flow protocol.
Yes it would be coming out of the left tank. At this point I would drive to a gas station, pour in another bottle of Techron and fill up. That should put enough into the right tank to start working.
Then that's what I will do. Hopefully it will do the trick but we shall see. Even if the gauge works until the right tank is empty I'll have a reference point to be gauge when I can change out the sender. (At this rate I'll be running straight Techron for fuel pretty quick!) Thanks to everybody for the advice.
Just filled up with double dose of Techron.. Gauge went right to full and check gauges light went out. Took 13 1/2 gallons. Reset mileage odometer and will wait to see what happens. Could I be so lucky that it will work. I doubt it...

It's been that way all my life. I am now in the process of changing the water pump in our X5 BMW. While taking out the fan I hit the radiator and put a hole in it. So now I have to get that fixed before I put the thing back together. I could go on and on, but I won't.
After driving a little while, the gas and Techron will be well mixed. If all the Techron were in the left tank, fuel is pumped from right to left by the jet pump at a rate higher than max engine consumption, which is a lot higher than normal driving consumption. If the total is more than half full, excess will flow back to the right tank through the interconnect near the top.
