As I wind down taking care of outstanding issues on my recently acquired Torch Red w/ black, 6-spd '99, I thought I was near the end of the list. However, I was out in her after sunset last night for the first time, and it's pretty clear my headlights need some fine-tuning in the aiming department. So this morning I went searching for how to do that (i.e., where the adjustment screws are located) and there is nothing sufficiently detailed for me to follow (that I can find!). I know how to determine the height and sideset on headlights; the issue is how to get to (locate) the screws that will allow me to adjust/set the height and sideset on the lights. Any pictures and dialogue on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I understand the adjustment screws are long and rust/corrosion sets upon them greatly, so much care and lubricant needs to be applied to them. Thanks to all for your past helps, hints, and instructions!! She's almost ready to be declared show and pride ready...

Thanks! I've seen this before. However, it appears that the headlight assembly is off the car, on a bench or a driveway or something. I also need to know how to get the headlight assembly this far disassembled in order to use these directions. I'm not very creative apparently...
Went to a salvage yard today and he showed me that to aim the headlights, I need to pull the black cover off of the unit. Not the body-color cover, but the black 3-sided cover (front and 2 sides) to get to the two adjusting screws. Told me to drown them in rust dissolver, then once I know they turn freely, drown them in white lithium grease. He suggested unplugging the wiring harness once the light are on, headlights up, to save the battery while I break the screws free and lube them. Does anyone out here in forum land agree with this?
I agree that you should use the rust "blaster" and grease. No need to unplug anything. Open your hood and look to the inboard side of each headlight. There will be a round rubber boot to pull off which will expose the back side of the motor. You can manually raise each headlight.
Once done, simply turn your headlights on then off again and your headlights will retract. This will also work if you only raise one headlight. No need to raise both or manually lower when a job is complete.
Lastly, if you want to raise your headlights but not have the headlights on, turn your headlights on then rotate the switch back to parking light position. Your parking lights will remain on but headlights will be off.
Here is a picture of where to find the headlight motors. The **** should turn easily and will seem like it requires a million turns . If it is turning with resistance, you're turning the wrong way.
