I have water running onto my floor board on the passenger side from the ac unit. I am looking for the drain hose and can not find one from the top. Do I need to look from the bottom or is it suppose to be accessible from the top and if so where is it located and does anyone have a picture of where it is. Thanks!
Most of the time when you get water in the car, it's plugged up udder. (3 on driver's side too) You have to remove the battery tray to get to the one on the passenger side but that is also where the drain for the AC is. Do a search on "udders" and you'll see pictures of everything I'm talking about.
I have already cleaned the utters. It only happens when using the ac. I did remove the battery but only found what I thought was wires going thru the firewall. They were all wrapped in electrical tape. Could someone in the past put wires and the drain tube together and taped them up, I wonder. I may have to remove the tape and see. Do you know if the the drain hose is a small hose?
It is a small hose but it shouldn't be taped to wires
I untapped the bundle and found a bunch of wires along with a tube. I blew air thru it and will drive it today and see if I still get a leak. Thanks for your help!
The AC drain tube is a tough one to get to, but commonly clogged. They will fill up the fan housing in the car. You can pull the fan down under the dash to see if there are signs of water. As far as cleaning the drain.....Get the front of the car up in the air as much as possible. You'll also want to raise the rear end too. You will have to craw under the car and look at the firewall on the passenger side. You will see a 3 inch hose coming out. It appears almost impossible to get to. Reach up an pull the hose off. Then get a length of wire (picture hanging etc) and run it into the hole about a foot or so. You can double up the wire to keep it stiff. If it's clogged, you will immediately get a bath of nasty, stagnant water all over you. Try to get it as clear as possible. I cut the end of my hose to allow for the water to escape easier. It's an hour job start to finish. work on a cold engine and prepare to get dirty.
