I started installing my first Vortech today. I figured I'd get my car done and sort of figure out the shortcuts etc. I started about 2 hours ago and I already have it all apart and am starting to put it back together. I read the instruction manual last night (which I'm not very good at) and forgot to bring it to the shop this afternoon. So, I'm kind of winging it.
The oil lines are already run and the blower bracket itself is on. So far, everything fits like a glove. There's a whole lot less plumbing than the Procharger. This may be easier for the do it yourselfer.
I like the fact that it comes with 42# injectors also. Another plus is that you can change the intermediate (jackshaft) pulley to up the boost. I like the idea of putting on a bigger pulley to increase boost vs a smaller one. This way you get more belt contact with the pulley rather than less.
I'll take some pics along the way to share.

It's good to hear that your installation is going well. I had planned on starting mine today but my back is acting up so I'll hopefully get going later this week.
Did you pull the front spring off to drill the hole in the oil pan. I have not pulled mine apart yet but I can barely only see part of the oil pan where the hole needs to be drilled. It looks like it would be much easier with the spring off of the car.
I talked to Kenney at GWP and it looks like I'll be driving the car up to Denver after I finish the installation for a tuning session.

No , I didn't have a problem drilling. From the top, you can get a pretty good shot at it. I tapped it. and put the fittings in from the top. I'm only about 4 hours into it and the blower is on and I'm starting on the alternator. I'm sure I'll have it running tomorrow.
I'll try to remember the instructions tomorrow! :D

The blower looks and runs fine. My alternator went out so I can't really drive it. I drove it once and my fuel pressure dropped down to 40#. Probably because of the voltage drop. I just ordered three Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pumps. I want to put that on before I drive it hard. We were playing with fuel curves today, but without the correct voltage to the pump, I can't go any further.
