Default Steering wheel turned when replacing steering position sensor

My steering wheel turned when I was removing my steering column to replace the steering wheel position sensor. Now I don't know which way it was before. I've read that this is very bad and will destroy the airbag if it is not centered. Is there anything that I can do to figure out where it needs to be?

Figured it out this morning. The steering wheel was 360 degrees off from where I started. Turned the wheel all the way to the left very slowly and didn't feel any resistance or hear any noise. Turned the wheel all the way to the right very slowly and started to hear a crackling sound. Took everything apart again, pinned the sensor and pulled it off, turned the steering wheel to the left 360 degrees, put it all back together and all is good.
