Thursday night I went to a meeting in my 2000 Vert. While inside we had torrential rain. Got back to the car and the right side was in 18' of water. Due to the crown of the road the drivers side was only in a couple of inches. The point being I believe the undercarriage on the right was in contact with the puddle. Nothing worked other than the power seat; trunk would not open, car would not start, various error messages on the DIC, check engine light was on, etc. I took an Uber home, came back next morning and all was normal. Started her up and drove away. - like nothing ever happened. What am I looking for?
I'd be looking for your lucky star to thank. It looks like you dodged a big bullet there if everything is running normally and there no codes or check this or that lights. You could pull the battery and battery tray to check the module under there (BCM?) as well as the one in the passenger footwell (ECBM? Not sure of the nomenclature without looking it up) for wetness and let them dry out if there is and maybe check code history but other than that I'd say you are good to go.
Thanks for that. I drove it yesterday and it was back to normal. However normal includes a couple quirks - all PRIOR to getting wet - the latest being that the turn singles work one minute and not the next, the headlights don't come on when it gets dark (and sometimes I have to turn the switch a couple times to get them on manually) when the key is removed the seat goes back and the door unlocks - except sometimes it doesn't unlock. I'm thinking it's time for the dealer to check the computers.
If you have the seat memory option the seat is supposed to go back and the doors unlock. If they don't that is a problem. I think you can set the doors unlocking with the DIC options but don't quote me on that.
See if the passengers foot well is wet. The BCM lives inside the passengers foot well behind the toe board. IT DOES NOT LIKE to be wet or damp. Feel under the carpets and see if the underlayment is wet or damp. If it is, the BCM may have gotten wet. That will cause more electrical problems than a big horse can WELL,, YOU KNOW!
