Default Fuel Gauge/Sender

Recently I was having issues with my 99 not starting. After chasing my tail for a while, my mechanic and myself traced it down to a faulty fuel filter/pressure regulator that was installed about two weeks prior. In my quest to chase down the issue, I replaced the LH fuel pump, and also the rear fuel feed line (the check valve in the line I had was shot). Now I'm having issues with the fuel gauge not working. It will only come up to 3/4 with a full tank. I've ran 2 tanks of premium through with a bottle of Techron. We uninstalled the pump to verify that there wasn't any obstructions with the float. After we reinstalled the pump, we put approximately 6.5 gal of gas back in. Went to fire up the car and it read empty. After sitting overnight it came up to 1/4. I'm at a loss largely due to the fact that everything worked before hand. Is it possible I bought a pump with a bad sending unit (Delphi), or should I start looking at wiring?

I would exchange the pump and sending unit, especially if where you bought will exchange at no cost, at least you will know if maybe you did get a bad one, or time to start looking at wiring.

I may get a hold of Jegs about that tomorrow. If I'm not mistaken, Delphi has a limited lifetime warranty as well.
