C5 Z06 "unnecessary" engine component removal

C5 Z06 "unnecessary" engine component removal
Hello guys,
I currently have an issue with my LS6 where it has a mild knock under certain conditions (WOT while being hot). I took all the spark plugs out (spoiler, it didn't reveal anything since there were all whiteish, showing somewhat lean but good running condition), and in the process, I realized how cluttered this engine bay is.
Doing some research, I found that the AIR system is one of the thing I can easily remove with HPTuners and cheap block plates.
I'd like to keep the AC, the ABS for now since I am not totally comfortable running without it, and the power steering. Is there other "unnecessary" components that I can remove? I live in Canada where we aren't supposed to mess with the emissions systems but it is not enforced nor tested.
My car is a 2002 Z06.
