So last week my buddy and I decided to install some Texas Speed long tubes ands Corsa exhaust on his C5. Everything went pretty smooth but then when we got done it seemed like the exhaust wasn't connected "firmly" and felt very loose as we could move the rear left and right 4-5 inches. I know this isn't right but it doesn't seem there are any additional hangers (just the two rear rubber pieces all the way at the back of the vehicle). Wasn't sure if anyone has any input (also I did search before posting this). Also just recently he said he was driving and the exhaust became de-attached to the rear.
There are two mid pipe hangers that need to be attached They are spring mounted to support on the vertical plane and provide some side to side support.
You cannot have any exhaust leaks as they will not heat up your front 02's correctly and will make your engine run poorly
Also with LT's it takes special tuning-That is why LT's are illegal in most states They make your engine run RICH as the front 02 bungs can be moved aft as much as 3' this makes your 02's not heat up correctly and read wrong---There are tuning tricks to compensate---That is why after an LT install you amy see very little HP gains or even less than before-
Lt's absolutley require a retune and special tuning
How loose is loose. There is some normal movement at the rear rubber mounting bumpers. It isn't a lot.
IF, the muffler mounting tang didn't get inserted properly into the rubber mount, it will not properly support the muffler/rear portion of the exhaust system and there will be excessive movement. Give that a check.
