I just tossed a texas speed 228r cam along with the TSP beehive springs, valve seals and pushrods in my '02 z. I did the headers and x-pipe a few weeks ago. After my tune though, i started popping a p0300. I regapped all my plugs, wires are good, and i ran fuel system cleaner through a fresh tank. STILL GETTING THE CODE. Any thoughts?
You are getting a misfire someplace. Run the engine in a dark garage and see if you can see or hear any arcing. You can MIST some water on the coils and wires and see if that causes the issue to worsen.
Are you sure that the plug/s are not cracked. Sometimes its hard to see if it crack down near the base of the porcelain/metal.
i would throw new plugs in it.
if you didn't pull them out when you installed the headers you probably hit one and cracked it.doesn't take much to crack one when working on the car.
also double check the wires to make sure one didn't get burnt on the headers and make sure the are seated on the plugs all the way
So i threw new plugs in and checked resistance/continuity on all the wires. Light came right back. One friend suggested my knock sensor may be unplugged or failing, but i didnt have the intake off during the cam swap. I feel a little bit of sputter at lower RPMs in higher gears (5th or 6th between 1k and 1.5k) but other than that the car still runs like a champ. Any other thoughts
