Default Harmonic balancer???

Hello,

I recently got a 2002 c5 z06 with about 94,000 miles a week ago and the harmonic balancer seems wobbly. I’m planning to purchase the Powerbond PB1117N from summit racing. What other parts do I need? Not really tech savvy so don’t roast me please. I’m taking it to the dealership I work at but I just want to get all the parts for it.

Someone also mentioned to replace the Under Drive pulley. Is it worth it? Should I get the oem replacement?

Any other stuff I should replace besides water pump & spark plugs? Thank you so much!!

I'd get an ARP bolt to go with the new pulley. And new serpentine belts obviously. DO NOT reuse your crank pulley bolt. They are torque to yield (TTY) and you run an extreme risk of breaking the bolt if you try to use it again to torque to spec.

Since you have to remove the rack, a new rack bushing kit might not be a bad idea either. Cheap and could firm the steering up a touch.

There are tons of different Pulleys - you sure you want to go with Powerbond?

ATI seems to be de-fact-o standard...for Performance reasons.

I agree, however, for most applications, the ATI at $425, when I bought mine, is a little bit of an overkill. For "ordinary" street use and limited performance, the Powerbond seems to be more than adequate, and far more "budget friendly".

Is the ARP bolt the same as the crank pulley bolt?

Yes. It's a crank pulley bolt made by ARP. It is NOT torque to yield and can be reused.

Thank you! Also what is an under drive pulley? Is that different from the harmonic balancer? Is it worth changing?

An underdrive pulley has a smaller diameter than OEM and as such a smaller circumference. It slows the accessory rotation speed down and frees up a couple of hp. Usually lighter than the OEM pulley also.
