Default 2002 With Original Everything Except Oil Changes

Bought this incredibly clean coupe from the original owner with 17k miles on it. Other than oil changes, 1 new battery and a new set of tires, nothing has ever been done to it. I recently changed the Dex Cool (see that post here) and now want to move on to the next items. The previous owner had all the maintenance done at local dealers and other than oil changes it had a leaky side gasket replaced on the rear end. Original air filter is still in place. My focus right now has been fluids. I've been doing the Ranger fluid change on the clutch, and am thinking next I'd do brake fluid flush and move towards the rear of the car with transmission fluid (M6) change to Amzoil and then finally the rear axle fluid. I've been reading here as fast as I can, but there is a ton of info to absorb. Checked the harmonic balancer last night and it looked fine. Tonight I hope to check all the udders. Are there any other maintenance items you guys would suggest? Things like belts, idler pulley's etc. that typically need attention on these cars? Thanks!

LMC5 column lock bypass. I installed on my 02 Z06 and haven’t had a single issue after installing. Great product.

When I bought my 2003 Z06 with 28K miles a couple years ago, I did/had to eventually do the following in no particular order:

(At least make note/ be aware of)
1. Battery
2. Tires
3. Brake Fluid, Coolant, Transmission oil, Differential oil
4. Clutch Fluid (flush periodically)
5. Engine Belts (2) I saw they were cracking, these dry up over time and are easy to change
6. Waterpump Gasket (started to leak, if not leaking don't worry about it.)
7. Door Lock Control Modules (these will eventually fail, resulting in the inability to lock/unlock the door remotely; the culprit are bad relays).
8. The HVAC display will start to dim at some point; there are DIY's out there on how to fix
9. Alternator failed
10. Re-adjust the shifter
11. Lube all body trim rubber with dielectric grease (helps preserve the rubber so you have no leaks in the future)
12. Clean the rain gutters (both sides)

One of the dealership service receipts was to replace the steering column lock assembly a year ago. Do I still need to install a column lock bypass like the LMC5?

Thanks....this is a great list! I would not have thought to treat the rubber seals with dielectric grease.

When you say rain gutters, you are referring to the udders, correct?

I’d remove your oil fill cap and shine a flashlight down in there, see what color valve springs is installed. If their yellow I’d change those out ASAP. Their known to fail. And it can be a costly repair if it fails. A yellow valve spring broke on me, the valve dropped a little, piston came up and bent it pretty good. I pulled the heads off, replaced the bent valve and all valve springs. She runs good now.

Isn't this more of a Z06 problem?
