Default Fuel Filter

Had fun changing out the fuel filter on Saturday. It's not overly difficult, except for the part where you get a face full of fuel when you disconnect the lines.

Also installed the CAGS kit so no more forcing me to shift from 1st to fourth.

When I changed the fuel filter on my '98, I unplugged the electrical connection at the pump and then cranked the engine for a few seconds. Not by the book but it relieves the line pressure.

I relieved the pressure at the fuel rail and disconnected the battery, but should have cranked the engine as you suggested.

Lesson learned and thanks!

I have an OEM filter but cant get to the old one without removing the exhaust pipes. No room up there to get to the connections. I was considering having a mechanic with a lift do it. But the job is easy once you get to the part.
