After doing some radiator replacement and battery fix, I tried driving my base c5 2000 and found that the car slowly accelerates on its own up to 40mph. Likewise, if I am at a high speed and lift my foot, it drops to 40mph and stays there. What could be causing this?
Is it running strange? Any CEL's? Idle high? Need more info to get any kind of diagnosis.
Running fine. Not sure what CEL is. It no codes thrown. Idle is a little over 1 which I think is low but the car accelerates and shifts to 2nd and third gears at that rpm. It is an auto tranny.
A few things I did in last month. Removed air intake and replaced the radiator. Deep cleaned the whole engine bay.
Diagnosed the battery drain issue to pop up headlight and disengaged it. Battery did die 3 times until I was able to isolate the issue.

It is idling way high for a stock car. When the engine is warm it should be around 600 to 700 RPMs at most. You could have a vacuum leak at the intake or somewhere else for that matter. Those can cause an increase in idle speed. That would be the first place I would start checking.
