Z06 oil usage

I have 2002 Z06 with 40K on it. Just purchased it about 4,000 miles ago. I am finding that it is using a quart of oil every 1,200 miles. This seems high and quite disappointing to me. It's only driven on the road and not real aggressively. Does this seem normal? I don't notice smoke.

The Z06 did have some oil problems bad rings not sure of the year think it as around 01 or 02 might do a search might help.
