Halltech has the power your are missing by trying to flow air through the stock Delphi 85 MAF sensor. Halltech came up with the solution in 2006 for the 1997-2004 C5 by making a specific intake system that utilized the LS7 Hitachi Probe MAF sensor. I already have a Halltech intake on my 03 C5Z, but mine places the filter way down behind the front bumper cover. So it is a 2 pc with the middle joint housing the MAF.
I had been thinking to replace it to be able to get the filter higher and accessible. Looking at this design, it looks identical to my upper tube (except no provision for a slot style MAF sensor).
Does Halltech sell the air filter and adapter harness separate? I can modify my current tube to accept the MAF.
