Default Electric cooling fan issues

My 2001 C5 electric cooling fans seem to be on constantly. Coolant temp is only at 205. Why are the coming on ?

Fans will run with ac on. Otherwise, turn off ac and see what temps the low Turns on and the high turns on. I can’t remember the exact temps but do a google search.

I agree.. The AC being ON can cause that issue. (NORMAL) When you turn the ignition switch to RUN (ENGINE OFF), do they come on?

I usually notice the fans are on after I have been driving a little while. Most noticeable when pulling into a drive thru or when I pull into garage. A/C not always on but fans are. Last night for sure no A/C was on .Coolant temp will be as low as 200-205 but fans do not shut off.

Ok test drive tonight. Drove about 15 miles to dinner with no A/C. Arrived at restaurant with no fans on.
Drove home with A/C on. Pulled into garage and fan were on high. Turned off A/C , fans stayed on high. Coolant temp 205. Waited 5 min coolant down to 199. Fans stayed on. Turned off car. Waited 1-2 minutes. Started car ... no fans. ?? Outside temp 61*

So if my fans come on when A/C comes on, why do they stay on even after I turn off A/C ? Is it a pressure related issue on the HVAC system ?

Do you know your way around a 12 volt test light ??...if so you will have to access the PCM and the high speed cooling fan relay control wire...it is a dark blue wire on pin 33 on the C2 connector...if you turn the AC off and the fans remains on connect the test light to battery POSITIVE...back probe the wire and see if the test light illuminates...if it does the driver in the PCM is sticking closed keeping the circuit grounded...you said the fans were on high speed !!

Narrowed the problem down to tune that was in the car. The turn on/off temps were way to low. A couple of adjustments on the lap top seems to have taken care of it. Set back to stock temp default. 👍👍
