Default Baer Eradispeed Rotor Options

Hi All,

I have a bone stock base C5 with worn out rotors that i'm looking to make my one of my first upgrades since buying this car a few months ago. I have my eyes on Baer Eradispeed since they appear to have great build quality, longevity, and they don't rust. I am not looking to replace the base model calipers since they are in great working condition and i only want to have them powder coated. I see that there are a few vendors on the site that can do this for me.

On the baer site i see only two standalone rotor configurations, the + which is the stock 12.79" diameter advertised for the front and the +1 which is an enlarged 14" diameter advertised for the rear that comes with standoff brackets to move the caliper outward. FYI, i'm putting 19" wheels in the rear and 18 inch wheels in the front at the same time i install these rotors. This didn't make sense to me for baer to only offer a front and rear rotor combinations that keeps the front brake torque constant and increases the rear brake torque.

On this forum and vendor sites i have seen additional configurations of the rotors: the base one piece non + version, and a +2 configuration which is a 13.35" rotor advertised for the front and also comes with standoff brackets. However, it is said that this +2 rotor requires you to have the Z51 option brakes for it to be compatible.

My first question, is all this information correct? Second, on the southern car parts site which sells the 13.35" rotor for the front, is it at all possible for me to use this enlarged front rotor without swapping in Z51 brakes? I would certainly like to keep the rotor diameters as close as possible, but ideally have the front be larger. I'd also like to avoid replacing a fully functioning caliper if possible.

Im new to the corvette tech, please let me know if i'm misunderstanding something.

Here is the link to the vendor i mentioned: https://www.southerncarparts.com/cor...ription_tabbed

Thank You!!

How about just call Baer? Why ask here. Baer has a customer service line and will be able to answer all your questions. They are the most knowledgeable about their products and fitment with vehicles.

- those have always been the options for a C5 with factory calipers. Anything else, call them up.

I agree with jacklehead. Give them a call. It’s a heated debate on this forum regarding the fitment of baer rotors and stock wheels. Manufacturer will know best.

+1 front says 18" minimum
https://baer.com/14-Front-EradiSpeed...e-2301053.html

+1 rear says 18" minimum
https://baer.com/14-Rear-EradiSpeed1...e-2302021.html

Use the supplied template on their site it does help, I am ordering today the +1 using stock calipers. I run 20"s all around & the front is tight, but the wheels you will be using may be machined differently on the back side.

I would get your wheels 1st then use the template to see if they will fit, better to do that than install the +1 rotors & find out your wheels won't fit. Or just buy the + rotors & know your wheels will fit.

Search for best prices, I just paid $1153.33.00 for a full set of +1 from 2 different vendors not on the Forum.

That’s not exactly true. Manufacturer says these will fit under stock wheels ie 17 front and there are users here with that setup.

The + & sport will fit as the rotors are stock diameter, the +1 will not fit, the rear +1 may fit in the rear, not in front, I just checked with the template.

Here is the template video.

Very interesting. I did not think to look at the C6 options. I did more digging on this and i see that front brake caliper brackets are interchangeable between the c6 and c5. Steve, are you using stock calipers on your C5?

I have C6Z51 front brakes on my C5 with 13.4 stock rotors it requires a F55 bracket, it is a bolt on but i have TSW 18 inch rim a 17 inch will not fit as i understand, i did buy it from Corvettecentral, i did consider the Eradispeed rotors but it is a hefty xtra cost.
I have the original C5 calipers in front.
