Defrost - Blend Door (pop)

Defrost - Blend Door (pop)
I need some first hand knowledge on this issue. When I flip over to the 'defrost' mode, I hear a very loud 'Pop' noise. It almost like the blend door is hung up and snaps free or slams closed causing the noise. So, is it even worth fixing and what would the long term issues be? If I do fix it, how hard or detailed of job will this be? - Thanks John
