Hey guys.
just put new wheels/tires/tpms on my 01 C5. Cannot get the sensors to communicate to car. stored old wheels with old tpms in attic, was 5 miles away and car was still reading 0psi!! any suggestions?
Reprogramming the sensors requires a strong (preferably u-shaped or circular) magnet.
1. Turn the key to the ON position but do not start the car.
2. Press the DIC RESET button to clear any warning messages, if they’re present.
3. Press the OPTIONS button and cycle through the menu until the display goes blank.
4. Press and hold the RESET button until “FOB TRAINING” appears on the display.
5. Press the OPTIONS button once. A “TIRE TRAINING” message is displayed.
6. Press the RESET button once. A “LEARN LEFT FRONT TIRE” message is displayed.
7. Hold a magnet over the Valve Stem on left front wheel. You may have to move it around the valve stem to hit the right spot.
8. When the horn beeps (about 7 seconds later), programming is complete for THAT wheel.
9. Program the other 3 wheel sensors as directed by the DIC message display. The sequence is as follows: Left Front, Right Front, Right Rear, Left Rear.
You have approximately 45 seconds to train each tire. If the sensor isn’t reset in that time, the training program shuts down and you will have to start the entire procedure over.
Those may have to be programmed with an electronic training tool. Your local tire shop should have one.
^^^YES^^^ This, I installed aftermarket sensors on my new wheels and you will have to get them programmed with a reader. The magnet won't work. Also, my new sensors don't read any pressure until after the car/wheels are in motion. So forget about reading them before a trip with just the key on. Other then that they've worked out great. Good luck with yours.

that's because centrifugal force is what activates their power & transmitters.
I have one wheel on my 99 coupe does the same thing. LF wheel reads flat tire at start up then as I drive pressure comes up on DIC. But still reads about three pounds low.Confused in FLA
Interesting thead. Changed all my old TPMS (Schraders) for AC Delco (#25773946) just a few days ago and could not get the system to acknowledge them with the magnet procedure. So if I'm following this thread correctly some TPMS must use the electronic training tool? And those TPMSs are the AC Delcos?.
Had a message come up on the DIC that stated Left front was flat and speed will be limited to 55mph. That was after I had pulled the valve stem out of the tire. Have not seen that message today..

Was that the correct part number for your year C5?
