I am in need of some technical advice on my Vette. 2001 M6, I recently had an issue where the car would click repeatedly upon start up until it fired.
I dropped the exhaust and found the wires attached to the positive terminal on the starter to be very corroded, so I cleaned them up, reattached them and the clicking is gone and the car starts fine. However, when doing this I noticed it looks like there is a burned wire above the starter by the ground.
I am assuming this is the crank position sensor wire? Can someone inform me if that’s what that wire is? And if it does need replaced, what is the best way to go about doing so?
I’m fairly green at working on cars, but trying to learn as much as possible. Any help is appreciated!! If additional pictures are needed, I can do my best to get them.
What are the wires in the pics? They do look corroded.
Those are the connections to the positive terminal on the starter. I cleaned those up and they are working good now! I’m afraid I did damage to the wires in the black conduit above those, and I am not sure what those are.
