Default Help!

Is a good/inexpensive upgrade to my sway bars/end links to upgrade to c5z parts? (Mine are shot)Also need to change rear diff fluid. What fluid/gasket is recommended? Lastly I noticed just before putting it in storage that I’m getting the dreaded harmonic balancer wobble. I’ve read that replacing with oem part is not advised. What would be recommended that I get? Also is anything else that I should do while that’s getting done? (Oil seals, tensioners, water pump)

Any help would be appreciated!

As for the swaybar you could go C5Z, but you would be better off upgrading to C6Z51 instead. For the harmonic balancer when I did my cam swap I went with Summit Racing brand.

Suspension:
Keep in mind that suspension geometry/ratios must be kept relatively proportionate to spec in order to prevent understeer/oversteer concerns.
I assembled the following for my car and it handles very well for a Vert:
C6 base wheels (I am not going to disclose my tire choice as your thread will get hijacked)
C6 Z06 shocks (AC Delco)
C6 Z51 front spring
C5 Z51 rear spring
C5 Z06 front sway bar
C6 Z51 rear sway bar
Poly bushings

HB: I did a PowerBond. Do not go OEM!
As for other things to consider being tore down for the HB, (not sure of your mileage) do inspect everything. I would do the water pump and oil seals for sure. Maybe consider a nice bump on a new camshaft and timing chain if within your budget.

I went with the ATI Superdamper Balancer that was recommended by my go to Vette mechanic when I replaced my HB in November, 2019.

If you are just street driving, then just replacing the plastic end links with the aluminum C5Z06 style is all you need. There is a steel endlink for a Caddy that will work too. Either way, 4 end links is $100 or so and easy to replace. The “bolt” end of the end links have a recessed fitting that needs either a Torx wrench, or a metric allen . The nut is 18 mm. If your rubber insulators are shot, sometimes the sway bar is badly rusted inside the bushing. the bore of that rubber bushing needs to be lubed so the sway bar can slide and rotate.

the harmonic balancer, ditto, for street driving lots of choices. Your OEM has lasted 20 years, so if your use does not change, then there probably isn’t a great need to buy one fit for track duty. The cost will disappear if you have a shop replace it, it us usually a 800 to 1k cost
