1) Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. 2) Press the "reset" button to turn off any warning messages 3) Press and hold "options" and 4) While holding "options", press "fuel" four times within a 10-Second period.
The codes will begin to flash across the display. Anything with a "-C" suffix is a current code. List those out and I'm sure someone can provide a fix.
Looks like your Steering wheel Position Sensor is failing. Common problem.
What year is your car? SWPS is not available for older models. Newer models part is about $65 but it's a PITA to replace
Suggest you unplug the sensor at the base of steering column until you get it replaced. Can cause some unexpected jurks on the brakes.

Thanks guys.....that's exactly what it does, jurks on the brakes. Car is 2004....I will replace the sensor.
There is a current post showing a member using some electrical cleaning spray on his sensor and it working out pretty well.
You might do a search and find it and give it a shot.
Might work for you and save you a lot of money.
Might not too!
It cost me around $600 to have my SWPS changed out.
