Recently purchased a 2000 c5 corvette with automatic transmission. Noticed a leak when i put the car in reverse. It only happens when the car is cold, i drive it then nothing. It’s definitely transmission fluid . Coming from dead center of rear of car.
You gotta drop the rear cradle, trans and diff and reseal everything. Labor intensive but cheap in parts. You should fire your mechanic that did the pdi.

Doesn’t leak at all when warm, purchased the car in August. I live in New England was 10 degrees the other day and car is in an unheated garage. If i start it and let it warm up no problems. Sounds crazy i know. It was 46 today took it out noticed a small drip in reverse drove the car about thirty miles came home and no drip.
It's the output shaft seal. Either tear it all down and fix or...
Dont put in reverse until warmed up.
Back into garage so you pull forward and only back up after its warmed up.
Others have said they have seen it too.
Thanks for the info guys I’ll be definitely letting it warm up before putting it in reverse for now. Gotta save some money for the repair. Other than that great car fun to drive.
That’s a trans leak. But a leak is a leak no matter what temp. Your trans has a bad seal. I’d wait until you need a clutch replacement if the leak isn’t too bad. Then address the leak.
