C5 needs clutch

Thought I would post this question here, as it is related to the clutch change, I think. Let me know if it is better to start a new thread, Ok?
Having this weird thing happening, when I am driving down the highway and then have to stop, because traffic sucks near Austin, so when I am at highway speed, then have to suddenly stop due to traffic, sometimes I can’t get it into 1st gear. It’s like it thinks 3rd is where 1st is. I am able get it in 2nd gear or any other gear, but when I try 1st, it is actually 3rd. This is only happening when I have been at highway speed and have to suddenly stop for traffic jam. Once it happens, if I sit there a moment and rev the motor and clutch it a few times and fiddle with the shifter, I can get it in 1st gear. This only happens when I have to come to a stop on the highway. It’s like when I have been in 5th or 6th and then have to stop and put it in neutral, then is when it won’t go into 1st gear. This just started happening a couple of weeks ago. What should I check?
Also, car has about 120,000 miles on it, never ever did this before I changed the clutch.
Also, when I changed the clutch, I also changed the trans fluid and used. AMSOIL Torque-Drive® Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid
Also, when I changed the clutch I installed a lighter flywheel and the clutch Master Cylinder and Slave Cylinder from Tick Performance.
Also, after I changed the clutch I probably put about 500 miles on it before it ever did this "won't go into 1st" thing when stopping on the freeway.
Now, today it did it again when I was in town, so, it is either doing it more now, or it is because it is colder, maybe.
