I believe that's what they are. I haven't had the vette long so I'm not sure.
you need to find out if they are stock GM wheels. If so, like I said, they can be suspect and I would at least take the bent wheel to a wheel specialist-the type of place that repairs aluminum wheels.
I was a Metal Shop teacher. Aluminum has a different crystalline structure than steel. Steel is malleable, and can be bent and returned back to specs without concern for it’s overall strength. Aluminum is not that forgiving. Under similar stresses, aluminum will break while steel will bend. I realize this is simplistic metallurgy, but that’s my concern about the integrity of a bent aluminum wheel.
This is a follow up on my vibration problem. I went ahead and had the torque tube removed and checked. Ended up having 2 bad bearings on the drive shaft so I had it rebuilt. Also had a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and slave cylinder installed. That fixed 75% of my problem. I then bought another set of wheels and had 2 of them powder coated black to match my other wheels. I no longer have a vibration problem but I took a big hit on my bank account. I have $2400.00 in the torque tube and clutch and about $400.00 dollars in wheels. Hopefully I want have any other problems for a long time.
