Default Heater Core Question!

Does anyone know where the heater core is located in a C5. I smell anti-freeze and smoke is comming from behind the engine and from the drivers side of the engine compartment. Also how would I change a heater core in a C5?
Thanks

I too had a leak that I thought was coming from the heater core. It turned out to be the "0 "ring that connected the hose to the core. You better hope the leak is there and not the core as the core has to be removed from under the drivers side of the instrument panel. It comes out as a total unit. It is a major job. If it is the " 0 "ring, then only the intake manifold has to be removed to accomplish the fix. If you have to do the job you will have the service manual and special tools to do the job. Myt advice to you is to have a dealer do the job unless you are very good at modern mechanical services. :cry :cry :cry

Thanks for the reply! Did u also have anti-freeze smoke comming from behind the engine and from the drivers side? I'm not loosing anti-freeze(or very little), and there is no wet spot in the car. Were these the same problems you had? Did u do it your self, or did u take it to the dealer, and if you took it to the dealer how much did it cost?
