I think at the time, the only other builder to offer a remote trunk player was Kenwood. The CD trays are not interchangeable between the two.
It might be just worn belts , but most electronic repair shops should be able to handle it, I would call first.
maybe call a top radio shop or car restorer in your area to see who they would use. I would think the primary obstacle would be the age of the unit and parts, not the repair work knowledge on an old but somewhat popular design.
Much like here, guys with electronic repair shops ask for repair help on the net if a repair gets tough, since the stuff gets complicated once in a while, and nobody working repair has all the answers with that stuff.
Not disputing the offered advice. A proven honest shop is a great resource. I just favor developing local sources, because, in time , you might know a guy that knows a guy , when you have other concerns.
The very same thing you do here, just with actual people.
I was told by a pro restorer during corvette day at a local museum , that working on cars is all about relationships. I avoid working on cars, but thought I would offer more details on why I would repair locally, walking on good advice..
like when I went for an alignment, and the guy had a buddy who came by for lunch almost everyday, who loved his C5, had very high C5 knowledge, and said I could drop by for questions any time. The guy was 100% gearhead , I was flattered at the offer.
He was the only guy I have seen use manual measuring tools to set alignment, big *** calipers, so he can use them at the track . Also the only guy who every asked me to sit in the car while it was aligned, and asked what other weight I usually traveled with before he started the job.

When I was working out of Florida, my boat was an inflatable, to fit in the trunk of my TR 6. Going around the bend in my local river was like stepping back in time. I was alway careful to be well towards haul out by the time the gators started slapping their tails at twilight. My little cheap inflatable was probably not gator tough.
My convertible came to me with a quality aftermarket axle back exhaust which I fear will block my limited options for the trailer hitch.
I desire for a bike rack, so I will probably be forced to go with a suction cup design, like film cars use to hang cameras., once I get the facts on fitting a hitch with my stuff, and the strength of the plastic trunk lid.
I once knew a body shop owner who hated tow hitches, saying they transmit a fender bender impact straight into frame damage. I think his frame of reference involved a different ride height.
